An incredibly busy, diverse and rewarding week.
The week started off with a little collaboration with a fellow tree man who needed some timber quickly removed from a job he was doing nearby - happy to oblige and remove a couple of trailers of what will become firewood for Winter 23/24.
Many thanks and great to be able to help out Tom Cox Tree Surgery-Garden-Property maintenance. Great job you did there with your team Tom and hope to be able to call on your tracked MEWP services in the future ๐๐ป I've got a couple of jobs in mind already!
Mid week - Planting Cherry trees in Plymouth with Niel and transplanting a sample of beautiful, vibrant and vigorous Monterey pine as a lead-in for a bigger planting project to follow.
Back end of the week - Removing dead, damaged and diseased trees in Luckett...
And finally renovating a severely lapsed orchard in St Ive.
Having the versatility and capacity of the GreenMech ArbTrak 150 available for the back end of the week changed what could have been a really tedious chipping task (particularly in the orchard) into a dream!
In between all of that there were new potential job sites and customers to visit and, somehow, find them a place in the work scheduled for the coming months.
Next week sees the need to catch up on office based work with several site surveys for planning applications and a TPO application to complete.
People often ask, what is the busiest time of year for tree work.
On reflection, I think the period New Year into Spring always tends to be the most frantic as everyone jockeys for position to get โthat jobโ (which they have been thinking about getting done for years) completed before the trees come into leaf for another growing season.
Despite the work pressures, New Year into Spring is a very firm favourite amongst the Seasons since it tends to deliver a wide variety of tasks on bright, crisp, clear and cold days which are just starting to provide some later daylight but without allowing the working day to extend too far into the evening.
